State legislators are introducing bipartisan bills that would set standards for how Pennsylvania agencies use automated license plate readers, including retention limits and rules on sharing. Nothing has passed yet — this is the drafting stage — but it puts Pennsylvania in the growing group of states trying to legislate ALPR rather than leave it to procurement.
