About

Who the flock are we?

An independent site about automated license plate readers, the paperwork behind them, and the very strange experience of being photographed by infrastructure.

AreYouFlocked.com exists because "does my town have these cameras?" is a reasonable question with a genuinely annoying answer: it depends on documents almost nobody reads.

Our job is to read them, link them, and summarize them without exaggeration — and to be funny about the situation rather than about your neighbors, your police department, or your politics.

Our rules

  • No town is marked as using ALPR cameras without a linked primary source.
  • Missing information is reported as missing, never as proof of absence.
  • Satire is labeled SATIRE and contains no real claims about real entities.
  • No invented quotes, statistics, contracts, costs, or allegations. Ever.
  • We present competing arguments fairly and don't tell you where to land.
  • Corrections are published, not quietly edited away.
