- Mapped cameras
- Individual ALPR locations represented in the mapping dataset. These points do not necessarily establish camera ownership or operator.
- Flock-tagged mapped cameras
- Mapped ALPR points whose underlying data identifies them as Flock.
- Documented deployments
- Individual agency/community deployment records supported by reviewed or linked documentation.
- Verified Flock
- Deployment records where the available documentation identifies Flock Safety as the vendor.
- Vendor unconfirmed
- Records documenting ALPR use where the available evidence does not establish Flock Safety as the vendor.
- Ties
- We use competition ranking: communities with identical counts share the same rank and the next distinct value skips ahead (#1, #1, #3, #3). Alphabetical order is a display tiebreaker only — it never implies one place has more than another.
These datasets measure different things and should not be added together. Town entries reflect only documents we have reviewed and linked. An absence of information is never evidence that cameras do not exist, and this database does not represent every ALPR camera in the United States.
